Jezken Bikes started with the collaboration of Jeremy Sherwill and Kendal Judd for a project in their Mechanical Engineering course at Swinburne University in 2008. The team objective was to “design a lightweight, efficient, durable, long travel, carbon fibre downhill mountain bike frame that allows a rider to travel quickly down steep and rough terrain”.
The pair continued the project for their final year research project and refined the design, conducted more detailed analysis and built a working aluminium prototype (Mk1).
Since graduating in 2009 Jezken has tested and refined the design of the downhill mountain bike
frame over three prototype iterations (Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3). The prototypes have been raced by
Liam and Joel Panozzo who have had a number of podium finishes in Victorian and National series downhill races.
Liam won the overall 2009/2010 Vic state downhill series aboard Mk2.
He was 2nd in the 2010/2011 Vic series and came 1st at the 2011 Vic State Championships on Mk3.
Joel raced on a Mk3 prototype and came 4th overall in the 2010/2011 Vic series and 3rd at the 2011 Vic State Championships.
From racing Megavalanche to punching runs at Whistler bike part – the adventure keeps going… We’re pumped on bikes!
Jezken now compete in Gravity Enduro races around the country and provide specialist suspension servicing.
