It’s been a while since the last update, so here’s the latest…

Rd 3 and 4 and State Champs have been and gone and we’ve had some great results and some bad luck…

Rd 3 Mount Buller
Joel had a cruisy qualifier seeding in 4th and Liam 6th, come race time Joel finished in with a 4th Liam turned the heat on and took the win! The bike worked great all weekend with no problems.

Rd 4 Mount Baw Baw
Round 4 brought the boys back to Baw Baw again…The weekend started off well but Joel had a very hard pedal hit which caused an issue with the gearbox, unfortunately he had ride another bike for the rest of the weekend. This affected his race run and he finished in 6th place, Liam qualified in 12th and stepped it up in the final to finish in 3rd. Despite the problems of the weekend we managed to get another podium.

State Champs – Mount Beauty Short Course
Last weekend the State Series came to Mount Beauty and gave the boys a weekend off from travelling to the race. The finish line being 30 seconds from Liams door and a minute to Joels!

As always at Mount Beauty a great weekend was had by the majority of racers. Joel and Liam enjoyed practice. Joel qualified 2nd with 2:54.5 and Liam 3rd 2:57.6. Come race time Liam worked it!!! took the win and the State Champ title. Joel finished with a very respectable 3rd to finish up a great weekend of racing.

Last weekend we traveled down to Mt. Baw Baw for Round 2 of the National  Series. A couple of days before Joel got bitten by a spider on his leg and was taking antibiotics for it so we weren’t sure if he was going to make it right up until Friday.

We arrived at Baw Baw close to midnight Friday night, put the bikes together and got some kip. Saturdays practice went well – we did some suspension tuning and had the bikes running well. Joel and Liam both did cruisey seeding runs with very little pedaling and seeded 9th and 15th respectively.

Come finals time Liam and Joel were both feeling pretty good apart from a small hiccup where Joel smashed his foot into a rock. They looked consistently smooth through the jeep track section. Joel finished with a solid 4th and Liam 7th. We’re very happy with how the bikes are running and with the great result. Thanks must go out to Matt Swan from YVC for providing us with support over the weekend.

A lot has been happening of late, Liam and Joel place 2nd and 3rd respectively at Rd.2 of Victorian State DH Series, a solid result for Team Jezken Evolution.
We are also proud to announce our partnership with Evolution Alternative Sports and Yarra Valley Cycles for this season.

After a long wait for gearboxes Joels and Liams bikes are finished ready for Rd. 2 of the Vic. State Series and National Series, here is a sneak peak of the proto bike they were testing over the last couple of months:

It’s been a while since I’ve updated and a lot’s been happening. Kendal and I’ve been riding in Canada for the summer. Liam and Joel Panozzo are both riding and racing Jezken bikes for 2010/11 season. Testing has been going well for their new bikes. We are currently signing up sponsors for the coming season.

I’ll post up some pictures of the new bikes soon….

Mt Beauty Big hill was a wet’n’wild weekend and Liam was riding great all weekend. He had a big crash in qualifying coming into the first rock garden and qualified 14th.

Come finals he was on a cracker of a run when a snapped chain meant no pedaling for the last bit of the track, arguably the place where pedaling counted the most, Liam managed to roll and placed 3rd! Stay tuned pics and videos to follow….
